Just taking a short break from railway modelling here for a day to post this tribute to probably the world's most talented engineer Isombard Kingdom Brunel. He would have been 207 years old today!
Can't argue with this...IKB has been a hero ever since I read the LTC Rolt biography as a 14 year old. He was an inspiration in so many ways and, as with the other colossi of the age, Stephenson and Telford, he was a man of many parts, not all of them perfect, but then who wants that? I hope we will always honour Brunel and his engineering legacy, even if we don't make anything any more in this country!
